Counting down 4 weeks to #FideLeonWedding, to be honest i'm freaking out a little here because i keep fretting about what i have not done at this point of time. I keep having the feeling that I'm missing out something. 

The other day i had a scary dream that Leon and I arrived at the hotel at 7pm, and we missed our wedding ceremony at the rooftop poolside which was at 6.30pm, I was freaking out because somehow i was doing my makeup without a mirror and turned out i look like crap when i finally saw myself in the mirror and I was like where the F is my makeup artist!!! I'm late to my own wedding and my hair and makeup IS. NOT. DONE!!!

Hahahah bridezilla in my dreams, other than that creepy dream, in real life i feel that i'm quite a chill bride, just.. freaking.. out.. inside...!!! 

HONEYMOON

Our 3 week long honeymoon planning still in progress, 

so far we're finally settled on which cities to visit, here's the rough plan: 

The day after our wedding, flying off at midnight, transit in paris and landing in London (yay winter wonderland, christmas markets and skating rinks in Hyde Park FTW), spend a week in london in which 3 days we will be on a self-driven roadtrip to the Cotswolds and of course to the Bichester Shopping Village for some awesome shopping, then back to central london to meet up with some of our friends before taking the Eurostar down to Paris then train to Zurich where we will be staying for a couple days to visit the Swiss Alps and maaaaaaybe if the weather allows, I want to go hanggliding!

 After Zurich we will train down to Milan to change train to Venice and again a couple days there to enjoy the beautiful city and we will be taking an overnight sleeper train (so excited!) back to Paris which is the last leg of our trip (Disneyland Paris! I don't care if it's "small" because i've never been to any disneyland, so no comparison for me!)

We're airbnb-ing almost throughout the entire trip except for B&Bs in The Cotwolds and a hotel stay in Venice, we're a pretty casual couple so fingers crossed and hope for an amazing experience all the way!

Ahhhh what I'll do for love. 

For the 2nd set of shots from our pre-wedding shoot with AlvinAdeline & Co, we wanted something more fun and cheeky that really represents how we really are, IRL!

 

And because Leon is a huge ass fan of dino and honestly, he has pretty much dragged me to every dino show in sg or overseas despite me not wanting to go see another exhibition full of bones, i'll get kidnapped and dragged there lol 

So I happened to chance upon these inflatable t-rex from amazon haha and we were thinking of dressing it up in human clothes and bow tie, vest or whatever (we thought it was much bigger when we ordered it actually) and in the end we bought a t-rex and a bran...whatever..saurus lol. 

And Tadaaaaaaah, May I present this series of shots which will never be possible without the amazing help of  Jeremy and his team from AlvinAdeline & Co.

For $10, I got 2 full sized products (Nivea Fruity Shield Pink Guava + Himalaya Neem Face pack) and 3 travel sized products (Hada labo Cleanser + Lotion + Klarity Lasertox CC Cream) and 1 sachet of Nivea In-shower skin conditioner.

Tinted lip balms are a lifesaver especially during times like when i'm driving/working and don't have time to properly touch up my lippies, I can't stand my lips feeling all dry/tight/chapped or worst, looking pale like a zombie! So I always make a point keep one good tinted lipbalm handy in my purse to keep my lips hydrated and the Nivea Fruity Shine Pink Guava lipbalm has this nice pinky glossy tint that makes your lips look intantly plumper and kissable! Muuuuuacks! 

I haven't exactly gotten used to the concept of conditioning my skin in the shower with the Nivea In-shower skin conditioner but Nivea body products always has this soft calming scent that is real soothing so it's nice using it at the end of the day.

After reviewing the Himalaya nourishing cream, which i absolutely love (I have already packed a travel-friendly mini tub in my honeymoon vacation luggage, winter in europe, I'm so going to slather it all over during this trip to protect my skin from the cold!) I started to explore the other products from Himalaya and i read lots of great reviews of the Neem Face Pack which many commented has saved or really helped with clearing up their breakouts and I would say i'm not a total fan of the herb-y scent, but it works wonder for my oily skin thou!

My fiance is a huge fan of hada labo products! he has gone through about 3-4 tubes of the Hada Labo Super-Hyaluronic Acid Cleanser now, he has dry skin so it's does a fine job in cleansing and yet never drying out his skin. A couple drops of hyaluronic acid lotion is enough to preps my skin for the other steps of my skin regime.

The Klarity Lasertox CC's other name is the "Miracle White Lotion", I'm normally not obsessed with whitening but I definitely don't mind have brighter skin! The texture is a light soft cream which spreads ultra easy + absorbs without leaving any residue in no time, i'm not sure what technology do they use in this cream but my skin does look slightly brighter after application, it has SPF 30 PA ++ too so if your skin is generally clear, not in need of much coverage and all you need is a brighter complexion, you might want to try this!

L&F WEDDING | SINGAPORE . Pre-Wedding Sneakpeek Series 01

Hello you!

I've got exactly 2 months to the wedding now, following up to my last post where i was sharing about my exciting experience of picking my wedding gown from The Gown Warehouse, which I also mentioned that we took up the bridal package along with pre-wedding photography + MUA services!

I've shared some sneak peeks of the shots from the pre-wedding shoot and I've had some to-be brides asking me on FB on the details and contact of the bridal studio, photography studio and makeup services, so I'd thought I'll share my experience here!

Within the package, there were 2 photographers to choose from to work with and we went with Jeremy from AlvinAdeline & Co, firstly- we love love love his work, secondly- Leon's sister May engaged them for their actual day wedding videography services previously and it was so tastefully and nicely done!

For my makeup artist we also had a couple of choices and I made up my mind about my choice, Roselyn almost as soon as i saw her portfolio, hehe she does alot of commercial fashion shoots as well as bridal so I trusted that she can give me the look i had in mind!

So Leon and I went to AlvinAdeline & Co office for a discussion session about 1-2 months before the shoot to plan it. We had a very fruitful session sharing our "love story" with them, shooting around ideas and seeing what would work for us. After the meeting, we shortlisted and picked out 3 locations to do the shoot, I'm also going to be sharing some sneak peeks from our first location at Bukit Timah Saddle Club where we thought looked so so dreamy and apt for the mermaid cut gown with these amazingly dreamy ruffles on the bottom that we picked out from The Gown Warehouse! 

FYI: For anybody who might be looking to shoot at Bukit Timah Saddle Club, it used to be free but now you have to pay a $100 to be allowed to shoot within the compound. 

And if you want to rent a horse for an hour for your shoot it will be a total of $200!

HAHAHA horse rental :/ for some reason that sounds funny to me.

To be honest I wasn't feeling my best during the morning of the shoot, and the heat and dragging around the heavy gown probably didn't help, but working with Jeremy during the shoot... It was AWESOME. 

He's so so so good at directing us when we had no idea what to do and really capturing the moment and he really made us feel very comfortable the whole time, no awkwardness at all. (:

[ TAIWAN '14 ] 7 days of Summer ☀ Day 04

Hello!

Just got back from our Krabi trip a couple days ago and i wasn't feeling my best and fell ill this few days but i'm starting to feel better!

The Krabi trip was my treat to celebrate the fiance's 28th birthday + our 10th year anniversary. Still feel like i didn't get to roll around the beach and haven't had enough of the sun and i'm back, last beach holiday before the wedding erm in like a mere 2 months + time!! Damn i get a shock everytime i countdown to how long i have till the wedding, need to get serious is shedding some weight soon, fat ass bride and groom here! haha

Anyhooooooos, other than being in Taiwan for our 2nd pre-wedding shoot, we were also there to celebrate my 24th birthday, which was this exact day! 2nd year consecutively celebrating my birthday in taiwan. (:
  
Since leon did research on my birthday plans for Taipei (which we were still in taichung anw) i told him lets just celebrate tmr instead after we get to taipei.

Although it's just a number, it really bothers me that i'm so old already!! I keep consoling myself by telling myself that at least at 24 I'm stepping in a new phrase of life, getting married + going to spend the rest of my life with one of my favourite people in the world but sometimes self-consolation don't do shit! 

This year i didn't even want Leon to sing me a birthday song and i blew out my candle as soon as leon brought out the cake hahahah as if it will make me turning 24 any less true. T-T

This minsu has over 30 types of room (all decorated differently) for you to choose from and the rates are super attractive like NT$750 was the lowest rates i saw?! It's located right at Fengjia Night market so shopping and eating is suuuuuper convinient. *LOVE!*

I chose the room "Underwood" and loved how the place look! Althought if you are carrying huge luggages etc you might want to avoid this minsu unless you ask for a room that is on a lower level? 

We reached there and realized that there's no lift omg! LOL when leon realized there's no lift he was looking at me with murderous intent like as if i want him to lug our 2 x 20kg luggage up 5 storeys. Haha we ended up just grabbing what we need for the night and leaving our luggage at their baggage left facility on level 1.

Pigging out at fengjia NM! After we had our fill of the faaaabulous la-la (shellfish) we stuffed ourselves with even more goodies! Love their slightly grilled oysters!

After our nomming at the Fengjia night market, returning to tomer hostel, we're like 2 overstuffed fluff ball trying to climb like 5 flights of stairs, SHAGGED!

To avoid the summer heatwave during the day, we went to the departmental shops to shop around and bought a bunch of books/manga/more skincare! hehe found out that nadnut is looking into industrial style for her new place so i lent her the book on the left to reference to!

Counting down.. 3 months.. 2... 1...

It's 3 months to the # FideLeonWedding!

Lol because i stupidly made a casual remark of "Aiyah dunno what to do for the wedding leh like nth much le hor?" to nadnut and she's got me all stressbomb about a a million things, going thru the wedding checklist and all just to realize we have a shitload of things that we have not done/made up our minds about. 

Hahaha, i thought we're almost there since i kept emphasizing to leon that if we can clear more things to be done asap, then we should do it now cos i dont want to scamper around like a stressed out rat getting down on the to-do list nearing to the wedding. I want to be like a STRESS-FREE bride.

Hahahah stress free my arse, one comment to nadnut and my world turns upside down. hahahah esp when we were doing the budget excel of the wedding + honeymoon, seriously stress bomb.

The last thing i want is breaking out from stress, so i just gotta breeeeeeeeath and get things done, slowly but surely.. gonna be done.

Bare face don't care! :D

I've also been continuing my Carbon-laser treatments at Trinity Medical Center with Dr Kan, i'm going twice a month for a more intensive treatment plan and after a couple of sessions, i'm really in love with the laser treatments, my skin is so so smooth now and so much free of annoying bumps, we're still targetting to get rid of my old pimple scars and all but right now my base makeup goes on like a dream and without makeup it's such a vast improvement from before and it looks so so so much better!

Dr kan also advised me to do scrubs more frequently to remove the dead skin cells, i've done that and so far my "at-home" take care of skin plan is do more purifying clay masks at least once or twice a week and a hydrating sheet mask a week to keep my skin in good condition.

I've recently gone for the GLAMGLOW launch event and was introduced to the GlamGlow Powermud DualCleanse Treatment. (thanks for the invite Alene dear!)

I've heard all the good things about GlamGlow but i've never really gotten around to try it, I don't want to go into the super ultra complication description of the product but the gist is that:

It contains OILIXER (a combination of 4 powerful and rare deep cleansing oils), Claytox (4 clay blend specially developed to provide ultra gentle detoxification + deep cleaning action), Pureifier (a mix of cleanser, astringents + super silky conditioners) and lastly the Ground velvet leaf (fatty acids, minerals and saponins to help nourish the skin and giving it a velvety finish)

it's an instant "Mud to Oil" Dual cleanse treatment, basically as like any normal clay mask you leave it on for 10-20 minutes after it hardens and you wash it off right? 

But for this you apply a little bit of water and you can give it a little rub and the harden clay mask starts to emulsify to an oil form to further cleanse your skin, you know how we all use oil cleanser to remove more stubborn makeup like mascara etc right? Same logic, it turns into an oil form to deeply cleanse and remove the impurities in your skin.

The smell of this product is ultra soothing, i love how to smells and it always makes me ultra really relaxed and i like that it dries fairly quickly as compared to some of the clay mask i've tried, so it's awesome even if you only have a mere 10 minutes to spare, slap a thin layer on, wash it off and there goes skin deeply cleansed and oh so velvety to the touch.

Alternatively, one of my other favourite clay mask is the Naruko Appleseed + Transexamic Acid Brightening clay mask and cleanser in 1, I personally feel that this range of products really helps with problematic skin like mine which monthly breakouts are common and will need a range of products to control the breakout.
